Homeschooling Law
A recently passed law exempts
from the Alaska Compulsory School Act children who are educated in their
home by a parent or legal guardian. If your home meets those conditions,
there is nothing for you do at the state level. You may want to let your
local school superintendent know about your home school because the school
district in whose boundaries you reside can enroll your home, private and
correspondence study students on a part time basis if the parent or legal
guardian makes such a request. There may be other benefits available from
your school that I am not aware of.
